What is Finance

Overview

Finance runs your organization's accounting without replacing Holded: it reads from your Holded account (estimates, sales, purchases, contacts, chart of accounts and daily ledger) and adds what Holded doesn't have — attributing each document to a project, a dashboard with treasury and KPIs, four analytics (P&L, treasury, recurring revenue and budget versus actual) and an AI assistant you can ask about your numbers.

Holded stays the source of truth for documents: Finance never creates or edits invoices, estimates or purchases — that happens in Holded and arrives here synced.

What Holded manages and what Finance manages

In Holded (arrives synced)Finance only

Contacts (clients and suppliers)Linking a contact to its client in Projects

Syncing with Holded

Once you connect your Holded API key under Settings, Finance syncs all of the above automatically (nightly, by default), and you can also press Sync now whenever you want to see it immediately. The sync history and any errors from the last run show on the same screen.

Project attribution

If your organization also uses Projects, Finance receives the list of projects (and retainers) from it and lets you attach each estimate, invoice or purchase to the project it belongs to. From that it computes, per project, income, invoiced amount and direct costs — the basis of each project's profitability.

The AI assistant

Finance ships an assistant you can ask in plain language — "which invoices are still unpaid?", "give me the financial summary for project X" — and also an MCP connector to use the same data from Claude, ChatGPT or any compatible client.
