1. Get your Holded API key
In Holded, go to Settings → Developers → API and generate (or copy) your API key. It's the credential Finance uses to read your documents — keep it as safe as you would any password.
2. Connect it in Finance
Open Settings, paste the Holded key and save. It's only ever stored encrypted: nobody, not even from the database, can read it in the clear. The screen confirms the connection by showing the last four digits of the key, so you know which one it is without ever seeing it in full again.
3. Run the first sync
Press Sync now. A full pass brings in taxes, contacts, estimates, sales, purchases, credit notes, payments, chart of accounts and daily ledger — it can take a few minutes the first time, depending on how many documents your Holded account has. You can keep using Finance in the meantime: the screen tells you when it's done.
Later syncs are automatic (once a day, by default), and you can keep pressing Sync now any time you want to see the latest state right away.
4. Check it landed correctly
Open Sales or Purchases and compare last month's total with what you see in Holded — they should match. If something's off, Settings shows the sync history with the reason for the last run's error.
5. (Optional) Attribute documents to projects
If you also use Projects, open Projects and attach your first invoices or estimates to the project they belong to — you'll see its income and direct-cost totals update right away.
